About coconut oil?????
 
I have been seeing so many use coconut oil but when I do research there are so many, extra virgin, organic and who knows what else? What do I look for, any help would be appreciated, I also noticed the price range varies too so I am at a loss. :confused:

Sorry I just checked on product reviews and got my answer, I forget about all of the other areas for help. LOL Yes I am a blonde, well a bottle blonde.

hey, glad you found your answer.
i have been giving mine coconut for about 1 week now.
i buy the organic exrta virgin unrefined at the health food store.
just keep in mind the dosage amount.
always start out with 1/2 of the reccomended amount and work your way up.
coconut oil cleanses the toxins from the body and if happens too fast it could cause diarrhea.
on the website i have it says 1 tsp per 20 pounds .
oscar for example is 7 1/2 pounds so his dosage would be a little less than a 1/2 tsp but i am starting him out at a 1/4 tsp per day and he is doing pretty good on it.

Hmm depends where you read??? I've found
recommend 1/4 teaspoon for every 10 pounds of body weight twice daily???

Both of you found the same amount. A quarter of a teaspoon twice a day is equivalent to half a teaspoon once a day. Upon the recommendations of many people at YT, I started using Tropical Traditions Certified Organic Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. There are lots of buy one/get one sales.

well, i think you would kind of go by your dog.
i dont think it will hurt to give a little extra.
the dosage i found says 1 tsp per 20 pounds once per day
for a 10 lb dog that would be 1/2 tsp once per day.
i am feeding oscar who is 7 1/2 lbs 1/4 tsp once per day till he gets used to it then i will increast to a 1/2 tsp and see how he does with that.
probably there is not dosage amount set in stone.
i would just start with the smallest amount and see how your dog does with that

it's great for coat digestion and even ear infection, all these amazing things we have in nature and I'm just discovering them since I'm determined to get only the best for my dogs

I use the brand cocotherapy, they also have flakes that you can use for treats and to supplement. I really like this brand.

I buy it at Trader Joes, it's organic. I brush the dogs' teeth with it now and they always have very nice breath. I don't add to food as we do omega 3 fatty acids from fish instead.

I think it was KJC that told me about this a while ago how CO was great for the gums. When my Teddy decided he hated every flavor of toothpaste known to mankind, I had been using just a brush and water and fighting a good fight. With CO on the brush, it's smooth sailing :D

I did this the other day! I added a bit of coconut oil to his CET toothpaste on the brush ... he seemed to like it better. And I noticed his breath smelled EXTRA good! ;)

Do you do this every night?
