neutering :eek: so i am moving into a mnew apartment next month and they tell me the regulations of having a dog and one of them was for me to have my do spayed or neutered if he is not already, now i have thought about it before and i said that i was not going to get him neutered because i wanted him have puppies one day but now that i have been thinking about it im really in between and i need to make a choice by the end of this month Please HELP!!!!!!:( |

Is he AKC registered, an excellent example of the breed that follows standards and have you done genetic testing on him? Those are some of the questions that have to have an answer of yes before breeding. I think you should just leave breeding to the professionals and get your boy fixed. |

no he isnt AKC and i was thinking that same thing about breeding alot comes with that |

ok , so one of the rules of pet ownership in your building is nueter your pet. sounds to me like you have 3 choices. 1 .nueter your dog 2 .move to a place that does not have that rule 3 .or stay where you are and give up your dog |

Get your pup fixed and just love him as he was meant to be. Leave breeding to the professionals...JMO. |

What right dies a landlord have to say your dog must be altered? I dont think thats legal. Either way if hes not AKC he isbt past question one for breeding quality, alter him. |

i think the landlord does have the right to insist that the pet is nuetered because it is their property . i know years ago when i was looking into apartments any that i was lucky enough to find that even allowed pets had a clause in the lease that dogs must be nuetered and cats must be nuetered & declawed.. i am pretty sure it is legal |

Wow! Up here the landlord can't tell you, you cant a have a pet...that's against your constitutional rights. Unless you are renting a basement apartment in someones house, then they can say no pets. Much less they cant say cat or dog must be neutered...at least i dont think so. My fellow Canadians am I correct? |

yeah, it is way different in the US. i cant speak for all states but i know in Maine it is very rare that you even find a rental that allows dogs at all. cats maybe.. |

I agree with the others. Definitely neuter him! |

I got my little boy neutered just a few weeks ago and he did great. He is on the small side (at the time 3.5lbs) but I am so glad that I did have it done. He went through it fine and I don't see a change in his personality either. |

I vote neuter.... Especially if he isn't akc .... Just let him be your baby boy and give him a lifetime of love! |
