Heartguard Plus Well, good news, Jackson actually LIKES Heartguard Plus and ate it as a treat. So much for me thinking he didn't like it. He's usually so picky, and I remember trying it once and him spitting it out, but this time he ate it like a pro. So since Interceptor is still out, I bought a 3 month supply of Heartguard. It's actually cheaper, too, if I recall. So is there any reason to switch back to Interceptor once it's back in stock? Do you think one is better than the other, or will Heartguard be fine? :) |

I think Interceptor kills more worms or prevents more worms then heartguard. |
I've always used Heartgard with Sasha, never had a problem with it! I guess it's just personal preference. |
I can't remember for sure but doesn't Interceptor kill whipworm or something like that? Seems like it has some extra protection. But Tibbe liked his Heartguard Plus from the first though I have to break it in half for him to be able to get the whole dose since it is so big and thankfully he had no obvious problems from the change. I will have to wait to be sure resuming Interceptor isn't causing any problems I think before I change back to it, if I do. And I do have to occas. put it down Tibbe's throat as he got to where he would spit it out sometimes and it is soooo tiny it worried me and I had to watch him and run my finger all in his mouth to be sure he swallowed it. One day I happened to see it on the floor after an hour after giving it to him so he had somehow managed to get it past me even checking all in his mouth! And I don't want to hide it in peanut butter or anything with Tibbe's recent GI problems so I can't just put it in other food. All that to say I probably am going to keep him on Heartguard because it's simpler and I don't have to worry about Tibbe's not getting it down and hiding it in his mouth somehow and later spitting it out. He just wolfs his Heartguard down. |
I have always used Heartguard plus with no problems. I have to cut Jada's up into bite size pieces because she wants to carry it around and find a hiding place for it:p |
Emy loves it, can't eat it fast enough. |
Both Interceptor and Heartgard are good drugs. It would be perfectly fine to stay with Heartgard unless you have whipworm concerns. Heartgard may cover more types of hookworms though. Would have to check. Ellie takes Interceptor and I like the ease of switching it out with Sentinel. She can't ave HG anyway and I don't want to use a topical. Ry takes HG and will probably continue to. It tends to be a bit cheaper and he does fine with it. I'm am using Interceptor still and don't have any concerns about buying more when they start producing again. |
Riley LOOOOOVES his Heartgard Plus! He goes Nutso doing circles when he sees me getting it out every month!! :D |
