Blue vs. RC MediCal Jazzy my 7 year old Yorkie recently had most of her teeth pulled due to neglect from the owner I rescued her from. She was fed puppy food until I got her a few years ago. Every year the vet has been removing teeth from her, poor girl. Now I've started feeding her Blue canned food and she loves it. Her stools are solid and regular. Although my last Yorkie Toby lived until he was almost 18 and we fed him Royal Canin MediCal. I would like to hear some input, pros and cons, and recommendations from people here. |

well if she is doing well on the blue buffalo then i see no reason not to keep her on it... if she has no teeth left it is not going to effect that any. you can get a dental spray to clean her mouth and gums and remaining teeth |
I'm partial to Blue Buffalo (Toki's been on a couple different formulas and tried several of their canned foods) and since your dog is doing well on it, I think it'd be a good idea to continue that diet as long as she continues to maintain good health. My preference in foods is that they don't contain by-products or corn/wheat products (especially if I'm paying big bucks for a premium food) like the canned RC but that obviously worked very well for your Toby! Nearly 18 years is fantastic! A lot of dogs do very well on RC products! |
Does MediCal contain by-products or corn/wheat products? |
