Is it a fit? Buddy is nearly 4, but this is the third time (like once a year) it's happened, we hear him yelp like someone has attacked him, we rush out to him and he's acting like he's been stung, check him over, nothing, then he goes all floppy in his head and his eyes start to shut, all this time I am cuddling him, cause he's my baby, give him 10 mins and he's fine, has anyone experienced this sort of thing? |
Is he a Yorkshire Terrier? Describe everything he does when he "goes all floppy in his head". |
If you can, try to video tape the next episode to show your vet. |
I would take him to the vet |
Yes, it sounds like he could be having a fit/seizure. Has he been evaluated by the vet? |
He's a yorkie and we never see the initial point of we're he yelps and it starts, it probably won't happen again for a few months maybe a year, he's under the vets at the moment for skin problems, I get the prognoses on fri, so I will ask the vet then what does be think, when it happens he looks like his eyes roll back and close like he cannot focus and his body is fighting to stay up instead of collapsing, the exact same thing happened when he was about 11 months, then we forgot about it, then when he was about 1yr 7 mth, forgot about it again after, so this is the third time. Today he is fine, we're out walking like nothing happened. |
Does he have a "soft spot", like a baby has, on top of his head? |
I would say he is having a seizure. Seizures are a symptom not a diagnosis. |
