What to feed. I just got Bay and the girl who had her was feeding her puppy chow. I would like to feed her what is best for her and for her to have a long beautiful coat. She is almost 4 months old. |
I hate Purina. They killed my 1 yorkie, Zoey, through tainted jerky treats. I feed mine FROMM now. They have been making pet food since WW2 and have never had a recall.History - Fromm Family Foods They have puppy as well as all stages formulas |
I also feed Fromm. We are currently rotating through the grain-free varieties (Game bird right now). I'd like to try Acana next. Toki gets kibble in the evenings and premade raw in the mornings that I add green beans and coconut oil to |
i am feeding acana grasslands but fromm is also an excellent food. fromm grain free is good if you need a tiny kibble.. |
okay Ill check those out, and to change over, just slowly mix the foods until shes eating just the new one? |

correct, what i usually do is start with 75% old & 25% new for 1 week , then gradually add in a little new each week till you get to 100% new... she should be fine. just a suggestion but if she is tiny puppy you may want to try the fromm 4 star grain free , it has very tiny kibble. the acana may be too big for her to chew.. |
A long beautiful coat is mostly genetics. Personally, I feed home cooked food to my dogs but do use kibble for convenience foods or training treats. My long haired boys eat Royal Canin foods. Teddy who has a long coat of silk eats RC Yorkshire Terrier and does very well on it. |
