Anyone used Hi-Tek Naturals Grain Free? Wondering if anyone has used Hi-Tek Naturals Grain Free kibble? There is a store here that started carrying it and said it is a very good food for the money. I just don't see a lot of reviews for this food and hate to use something that I can't find a lot of positive reviews for. Another kibble they suggested is Pulsar. It is made by Horizon. It is a relatively new line of food and I can't find actual reviews for this food either. If anyone has any experience or feedback, I'd love to hear it. |

i have never heard of the hi tek food but i do know that the horizon pulsar is supposed to be excellent food. I saw a few good reviews on it.. the quality and ingredients look really good too |

Check out amazon.com for reviews. Louise |

Thank you, good suggestion! I found a couple reviews on Amazon for Hi-Tek Naturals Grain Free and they were very positive. I found a couple reviews there for Pulsar and they were both very negative. |

Yeah, I read those reviews too. Seems like the grain free has good reviews but the regular formulas aren't as great but I don't know. This is a new brand to me! Were you considering any other brands?? |

unfortunately every brand of foods out there are going to have positive/negative reviews. we all have our opinions on what we like to feed our pets. when i choose food for my pets i do not base my decision solely on customer reviews.. |
|
That's true. I don't base my pup's food choice solely off other customer reviews either but those definitely provide very important information to me along with other factors like the company's history, where they get ingredients from, customer service, etc... A lot of foods look good on the back of the bag but I still like to see what other customers' experiences have been even though different pets will react differently to the same foods. |

I do like to read the reviews myself.. It gives me a good idea what people think of the food then i just weigh the pros/cons |
|
I just emailed the company for more information! Hopefully they'll have some good stuff for me to share! |

thanks, that would be interesting... |

Well, I got a bag of the grain free to try it out. I also got a small package of Nature's Variety raw medallions to try. I am considering doing a combination of kibble and raw. |

I wouldn't feed this one personally-it mentioned pork in the ingredients and Jaeger has never done well with pork-it upsets his stomach. |

My dogs have had Fromm Pork and Applesauce before, so I don't think the pork will cause any problems for them. I will know more after this week I guess. They are just now starting to get some of the new kibble. |

My dogs are not picky at all. They are eating it and seem to like it just fine. I got the grain free chicken formula. |

Hi-Tek seems to have a lot of different proteins added to it. Not sure if that's good for some yorkies w/sensitive tummies... |

Mimi & Momo are on Darford Darford Zero/G Dog Food | Review and Rating The 1st 4 ingredients are from protein. Again, this food also doesn't contain potatoes, is grain free & has added probiotics. Major plus, the kibble size is super tiny! This was very important bc Momo has tiny teeth. They also only get kibble in the morning & THK for dinner. We're going to try the fish & mysis shrimp formula next. |

Well, my dogs seem to like the Hi-Tek Naturals grain free. My dogs have never been picky eaters though. The kibble is small. Haven't had any noticeable adverse reactions, poops are fine, no noticeable gas, etc. A couple things made me choose Hi-Tek over Pulsar. Pulsar seems to have a lot of fiber. It is also lower in protein than Hi-Tek, plus there is a lot of pea in it. Pea is also pretty high in protein, so it is hard to say how much of the protein in the food is animal based and how much is from the pea. I may still try this food sometime, but not sure at this point. As someone else pointed out though, the Hi-Tek is a pretty busy formula but that hasn't seemed to be a problem. I may use this in rotation with other foods. I tend to change/rotate foods often. |

I chose Pulsar mainly for Princess bc she's just recovering from colitis, so she needs a simple kibble (1 meat source) & a diet high in fiber. 5% is good for her, THK is higher, her vet ok'ed it so I'm comfortable w/it. About the protein source, the meat should be high up on the list & be in the top 5 ingredients, as that makes up the bulk of the food. Salmon meal is the 1st ingredient in Pulsar, so I'm ok w/that too.:D |

I started my Penelope on Nutrisca Grain free/ Potato free at 9 weeks and she seems to be doing really well with normal stools and maybe too excellent growth (she is alreay 3.5 lbs at 13 weeks). I am looking to keep her diet as healthy and natural as possible too. I haven't heard of Hi-Tek Naturals. |

hi, oh penelope is an adorable name. Yes nutrisca is great food. Btw, 3.5 pounds can be a normal weight for 13 weeks, depends on body structure. My oscar was 4 pounds at 12 weeks and now at 11 months he is 7 1/2 pounds and still very tiny dog |

Has anyone had any luck getting in contact with Hi-Tek? I sent them an email a couple weeks ago about where they source ingredients from and still havent gotten a response. |
