what human food are good
 
I know that there are some human food are find for puppy and dog to have. but I am not to sure what other food are good. I got some from the puppy class and we did ask the vet about few. but we didn't really ask what other kind are not. Since she does eat the Blue Buffalo has some of the food that we eat in there I have seen it. and she does really like some of the food that we eat. I just wanted to know what other kinds of food are good for her. before we started to give her anything else and thanks

Murfee gets little bites of lots of things we eat. I know we probably shouldn't do this.

Generally dogs can eat any fruits and vegetables that people can. It might be easier to give you a list of things dogs can't eat and go from there. Onions and garlic (in large amounts), and small amounts of grapes, raisins, nuts other than peanuts, and pure chocolate are all poisonous to dogs.

I home-cook for Tatiana. The food she can eat (and she's not allergic to) are:

chicken
rice
spinach
canned, plain pumpkin

All these foods are served plain, unseasoned. Tatiana has a sensitive tummy (prone to diarrhea), so I avoid seasonings for her. That's why I won't give her bites of our food.

Also, I won't give her extra veggies and fruit either. That can give her the runs, too.

Also no salty meats, such as hot dog, sausages, cold cuts, etc. No fatty meats such as burger, steak, etc. Some are sensitive to dairy and it can trigger pancreatitis.

I only give mine fruits and veggies now, not even bread. I don't give grains anymore.

we have gave her some hot dogs before but one day she just throw up what we give her that day and too it looked like she didn't even chew it up. but we didn't know if she could eat alll kind of fruit and veggies. and thanks

I home cook and we use rice, sweet potatoes, green beans, carrots, chicken, and turkey. So I know any of them should be safe. I know that Ladyjane posted a recipe for sweet potato treats. My girls go nuts over sweet potatoes!!

she does eat green beens she love them she will eat carrots but the uncooked onces don't set to well with her. I wasn't to sure if she was getting tired of the same old things we been giving her. like pea green bean potatoes and we was giving sweet potatoes for a while and chiecken we never thought of rice before does it have to be onc kind of rice or any kind.

Hot Rod loves veggies of any kind. Maggie will eat some veggies if we sauce it with any type of the gravies we've had at dinner. We have them in the beds while we eat dinner to keep them from sitting at our feet begging. Their treat for doing this is a piece of something, usually veggies from hubby and myself.

Neither of mine really like fruit although they did eat strawberries one time. Be careful of apple seeds.

I didn't know that u could put other season on the food for dogs we just give her plan veigges and fruite

I use brown rice for my girls. :)

Many give Cherrios as treats, but the regular kind, not Honey Nut.

I actually don't like to give rice bc it gets stuck in the beard very easily, and also on the roof of their mouths. It's a pain to clean them up. Maybe bc I give chinese rice and it is much softer than say a rice pilaf type, but I don't give rice anymore.

Are you trying to find human food as treats for your pup or bc she won't eat bc she's picky? If you give in to a picky eater, you are just creating an even pickier eater.

Also if you give cooked veggies from a soup, make sure there was not onion cooked in that soup.

I use the play cherrios and she love them. I know it is in her dog food the rice but u can't really see it so I didn't know for sure what kind it was so next time we have rice I just might make her some with nothing in it

we just want other food to have on hand cause we are out some where and we don't have any of her dog food with us and sometime she don't want to eat her dog food at first but she does eat it more then the people some people food we give her. she really not that picky eater. she just has her time of the day where she will eat but she wont do it everyday she change it up on us. just to keep ups on our toes

If you are referring to what I wrote of putting some gravy on the veggies, I mean that we might just swipe the piece of veggie across the plate. We don't drown the treat in any type of sauce or butter...just a tiny bit of it to get Maggie to find it interesting.

Sometimes she will take the veggie, no problem so no sauce or gravy then.

oh k I have thought about doing the gravy. since I read some where that gravy and potao was alright for dogs is that true. we did give her a little of that months back and she been fine so far.

Eggs are really great as a treat!! My Logan LOSES HIS MIND if he hears me scrambling eggs in the kitchen. I just give him a little bit, and only in his food dish. He seems to like scrambled egg WHITES the best.

I have heared that eggs was something that they could eat but wasn't to sure if was something that they could really eat it or not. this one I am still not to sure about yet. but its something else to think about maybe trying her on.

Yes, potato is good. Mine like white potatos and when hubby has a baked potato at dinner, we give them that for a treat. Again, he smidges a tiny little butter on it just to entice Maggie. I prefer to give them sweet potato as I feel it has more vitamins and they love it.

I would just be careful of lots of gravy--can be too rich and fatty. This is something else that we've smudged just a smidgeon onto a treat to entice them. Onions are bad for dogs, so if the gravy has onions, I would steer clear of it.

we have gave her some potato and sweet potato. lot of the time we never put anything on it for her. I did try some gravy before and she seem to like it. but we don't do that to often. but I didn't know u could have a little butter on it. if any of that get on it we lick it off ourself so she don't get any of it.
