| capt_noonie | 06-05-2012 08:08 PM | Wow and I thought we had it bad over here! I am so sorry to hear about your baby's suffering. About 6 months ago Uni was scratching herslef raw on her shoulders, moreso that usual. She got a steroid shot and some antihistamine, special shampoo, and I put coconut oil on her hot spots. As soon as the meds were done, she started itching again. If I keep up with keeping her bathed frequently and CO on her skin, she does ok. But still stratches her hair off constantly, just not enough to make her skin raw. Quote:

The yeast gets under the toenails and they chew on them because it itches. I use one gallon water to one cup vinegar. I soak her feet in this and it helps with the itchiness. I guess it kills the yeast. I also soak her whole body in it. She has no smell to her any more. It's worked wonders for us. You can do it as often as you need to. I soak Ellie's paws once a week. I've also just now started with the coconut oil. So many people here recommended it. This works for us, not sure if it's an answer for you. | Thanks for the vinegar tip. I've read about it before, but always forget to do it. Do you use apple cider vinegar? |
