Limited ingredient Grain free potato free low fat food I can't seem to find canine caviar anywhere local. That's the only grain and potato free food I've found with limited ingredient. I wanted to do local because she might have a reaction to it and I may need to return it. I've been trying to find a grain free potato free limited ingredient that has low fat and average protein for her. This seems impossible and I can't figure out why. Canine caviar has a fish grain free but it is 31 percent protein and 16 percent fat which may be high for her (ibd-vomiting bloody stools). I thought about trying California naturals fish grain free. Anyone tried that? Not a fan of pg dog food though. |

Thanks. What kind of digestive issues does yours have? Does the food seem to be helping and what formula are they on? |

I did check natures variety and liked them a lot but I think their fat a nd protein levels were kinda high. Ive been reading yorkies with ibd and prone to bloody stools and vomiting should stay under 12 percent fat and have a lower protein content. Which is making my search so hard. I would like to stay away from atleast white potatos because Im still seeing a small amount of blood in her stool once a week and she is still itching a lot. |
My Oscar- I was on dog food advisor and people were saying since pg bought california naturals there dogs have been showing signs on allergies. Have you noticed a difference in your dog at all. I really liked them but it scared me a little. Im hoping they arent using lower qualities ingredients. Thats the only thing I can think of would be causing dogs to react to the food now. They might be saying they are using same ingredients but not telling people they are lower quality. What are your thoughts? Safe to try on my extremelly sensitive baby? |

My dogs problem is mainly digestive and he does fabulous on the california natural. If you are uneasy abuot using that food maybe you could try somthing else. I wish you could try the canine caviar. Go to their website and contact the company and ask if they could possibly send you a sample... |
I found a website that's sending me a sample of canine caviar. I wanted to put her on wild ocean but it looks like protein is 31 percent and fat 16. it looks like wilderness has a protein that's 29 and fat 16. I think I'll try California naturals first since it seems to be exactly what I was looking for. I just realized the nb canned food she was eating has 32 percent protein and 18 percent fat so maybe that's why she's still not feeling right. |

Did you check out lotus, they only have one grain free available 27% protein and 12%fat. Good luck! LOTUS Natural Food For Pets |
I think I'll try the kangaroo. I have a sample of the fish grain free here with me. I'm panicking right now I think she's about to have another episode. I hear her belly and she's had two loose stools so far this morning. I gave her a dewormer Friday. Im not sure if this is what's setting her off. |

oh poor baby. have you ever tried any rx foods from your vet just for a trial basis to see how she does. my airedale has to eat rx purina en when he is really bad and overnight his problem is gone... |
She was on I/d and then iams fish and potato. Neither seem to help. Iams made her stomach stop gurgling but stool loose stool. I keep seeing my hair in her poop when it's real loose but they keep saying its not from that. |

it is so frustrating when you are trying so hard to find the right food for her and nothing seems to work for long. i hope the california natural works for you. is she allergic to certain ingredients or is it mainly like a protein & fat issue ? |
