Need information on LCP What are the symptoms? He is fine until he falls on his back leg and then he will cry. Could that b lcp? My baby had an x ray and the vet told me that the only thing he saw was that his right hip didn't look like it was seeded like the left one was. He didn't think he needed surgery. He said he was still growing. He runs wide open and climbs stairs so I was just wondering. His knees look good nothing wrong with them. He did give medication for him for pain and inflammatory as needed. He is 9 months old. |
I would think that if his hip does not look right on xray, a specialist might be in order. Ask about a board certified orthopedic surgeon. Does not mean that he needs surgery, but an expert to look at it would probably be best. If your vet does not know one, you can find one in your area by searching on this site: American College of Veterinary Surgeons |
Thanks ladyjane. I just looked up a surgeon. He is about 2 hrs. away. I called and got to talk to him about Milo's problem. I told him everything about his X-ray. He said that if he wasn't holding it up all the time and limping then he would just keep a watch on him. He asked if he had muscle loss and I said no. He said that's a good sign but let our vet keep a watch on him. He didn't seem to worried. |
Oh, so he thinks it is normal for a dog to fall over on his leg and cry? |
I know. I just don't get it. They think he has to b really bad before they will do surgery it sounds like. I am looking for somewhere else to take him. |
Oh, I am not saying he needs surgery. I was just surprised that a boarded vet would say that all is well without seeing a pup that had symptoms like that...that's all. |
You should take advice from a surgeon who has examined your dog and looked at his X-ray. I would take the trip and make an appointment. |
