Whats wrong with my dogs ear? 1 Attachment(s) So for the past few weeks my dog has had this weird patch on his ear that is swollen and crusty. I have taken him to the vet and he told me to change his diet and give him these drops which are called Zymox ( its a hydrocortisone for dogs ) after the cycle the inflamtion and dryness still is there. What is this and what can I do to get rid of it. There is no evidence of pain and no mood or diet issues that are an effect of this odd thing on his ear. Any help will be greatly apprciated! |
Any weeping or drainage from the swollen area? Is that a tiny hole at the end of the lump? Does it itch? Is it increasing in size? Can you feel any kind of movement when a very light touch is applied for a few seconds? If no to all the above... maybe a trip to a dermatologist would be of benefit... |

I think that the derm would be the quickest way to get it resolved... |
Use bag balm on it, will clear right up. |
Hmmm, my yorkie Tatiana never had this. But it reminds me of MY skin condition (I have terribly sensitive skin). How about using hydrogen peroxide? That's what I use when I have a bumpy, peeling flare-up. I would soak a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide, and gently clean and dab the problem area. I would do this about three times a day until it clears up. Just a suggestion. |
