Sorry for multiple posting this but I wanted to get the word out. The lawsuit was filed the same day Zoey passed. It is not me but I will be following this very closely.

First Lawsuit filed over Chicken Jerky Treats

Zoey will be remembered and I will continue to tell others her story to prevent this from happening to another pet.

About time something was done. Enough dogs have died.

And it's not just Walmart. Our local Meijer store still has these on the self today!

So does Costco, Petco, and Petsmart. Just off the top of my head.

What the He!! is wrong with this company ??? How many more pets have to die to prove to these IDIOTS that there's a huge problem here ? I say we get out our picket signs & start marching in front of every store that sells Nestle/Purina products of ANY kind. Maybe then they will do something.

They sell them at the grocery store I shop at I have purchased them for mine a couple yrs ago

:thumbup: Power to the people. I would happily picket and march. I already paid for Buddy's training classes at Petco before Zoey got sick otherwise I would never enter their building again. I will never purchase from a pet store that even sells Purina ever again. I would do the same for food stores but there are only chains in my area. The local ShopRite however has pulled their China made Jerky treats. I think I wore the owner down. Every time I go into any pet store I ask if they sell Purina and if they do I immediately leave after telling them why they should not support them. I now buy from an independent pet food store I did not even know existed. When I first went into the store I has Zoey with me and saw a bag of Proplan at the register. I asked do you sell Proplan- The guy said "yes" and "no". It ended up he was the owner. Yes they technically sell it but only if a customer asks of it to be ordered otherwise they never have it in the store. This I can support. They have called everyday to find out how Zoey is doing after hearing her story. I went to the store today and they gave me a bunch of US only made products for the other dogs. They want me to bring in a picture of Zoey so people can put a face to this tragic event.

I will never buy another 1 of there products and neither will my immediate family or friends. I will not give them another 1 of my dollars. Already paid the ultimate price without the loss of my beautiful and sweet Zoey.

I just saw them in a pharmacy that I go to. It upsets me to see all the things that these companies put out for dogs to eat. It's like they find the junk on the slaughter room floor and scrape it up and make it a pet food or treat.

Its about time but sadly its not just walmart, that chicken jerky is in just about every store I go into.

Jerky is a general term. It is sweet potato and other varieties as well affected.

I don't understand why there is no one to make them take the garbage off the market. I have heard that the pet food industry is self regulating but when it gets this bad something needs to be done!

I am so glad to hear that someone is finally doing something. It is so sad I see people still buying them for there dog. There is a Purina Plant here and I am planning on doing a blog post about it, they are working with me on setting up a tour date. I want to know so badly what goes on in one

I'll be watching this as well. When Tuffy was just a little thing we gave him what I refer to as "that garbage China chicken jerky" but he only had it for a few months before he got really sick. It cost us right about 400$ to get him better. Thankfully, I knew right away it was the chicken & tossed it all.

My MIL went through a very scary situation with her Jack Russell a few months ago. (Mom isn't convinced the chicken is BAD :eek: & still let's her have it.) Her neck swelled so much the poor girl could barely eat. She thought something was wrong with her mouth or a tooth & took her to the vet. No real diagnosis from the vet; they treated her with antibiotics & released her after 3 days IV etc. I am convinced it was caused by the garbage China chicken. I've offered to make dehydrated chicken for her.

When I first got Gracie I got her some of that chicken jerky and she got diarrhea. I thought it was because she was a puppy and it just upset her stomach so I stopped giving it to her. I gave it to her again when she was almost full grown and she started vomiting. I'm glad I decided not to ever give it to her again. I am really particular about what I give her and the bag said it was all natural so I thought it was safe. I don't buy any foods or treats that they sell in departments stores for pets anymore. I'm suspicious of much that I see in PetCo as well.
