does your yorkie shake?
i notice that my 2 yr old female bella sometimes shakes. she could be fine, eating, playing or whatever and then out of nowhere, will usually jump on on couch trembling slightly, usually staring at me as if to say " why do i shake?" i usually just start holding her or try to get her to play and she's fine. it gets me nervous since at 12 weeks old she had a shaking, drunken, disoriented episode which the vet said could be a shunt. i had her bile acids checked and it came back evident of a liver problem, possibly a shunt. since then she has been on a strict high carb, low protein liver disease diet w/ NO TREATS. i'm starting to wonder if her diet could have been the cause of the outcome of the bile acid test. at the time, she was very small, under 2lb, and we would try to get her to eat anything, lots of times ground meat(protein) and alot of treats. we didn't know about liver problems in yorkies. hopefully the change in diet will be all she needs, but at times she still trembles. |
