LOL...that is just the cutest....that baby is all laid out and relaxed, hehe:thumbup: |
I hope Jada and Bogie are half that relaxed when ours comes next week:D That is so cool that Sugar will just lay on her back and let you do that. What a good girl:) |

I think I have the hots for a dremel! Wylie hates hates hates the nail clippers bc the few times he went to the groomers, his quick was cut. I wonder if he'd do okay w/ a dremel.... |

Sonicare and Dremel :D:D:D |
Back several years ago when I was grooming, I accidently cut a nail too short and of coarse the poor little dog cried and bled. From that time on when I cut their nails I get a sinking feeling in my stomach. I have been just letting the vet do it lately. They charge like 10.00 to cut them. Think I am going to try the dremel again and just take it real slow and easy. Like I said earlier Lexi is the only one of ours thats use to it and its been awhile so she may have a fit. |
 I love my Dremel too. Mine are not that relaxed, but at least they will tolerate it. With the nail clipper, Moka lets out a cry before I ever snip it. It's so pathetic and funny, but the Dremel is much less stressful. |
Incredible! |

Now, they are almost short :D:D:D:D |
Mine should be here today!!!! I hope my guys let me use it on them:p |
I was going to buy one but the groomer I took her to told me that I could rip her hair off using it. Frightened me into getting it. Maybe I will look at some helpful videos on how to use it before I buy. |
That one is far different from the Dremel I got or the Pedipaws. I am going to read above to see what model you got as this one doesn't seem as drastic as either of mine, though Tibbe lets me use both of them. I just stopped the Dremel when it caught in his fur and rolled up into his tummy. I thought it had killed him or something. We changed to Pedipaws but it still seems to sound louder and faster than your Dremel. I just don't have the guts to use nailclippers anymore. |

Thanks for the model #! I tried but I just couldn't get Tibbe's nails through the nylon. They wouldn't poke through on their own - he's just got little noodles for toes. And he just hated it once I poke holes in the stockings & tried for force each of his little toes through the prepoked holes. It frustated him more than anything. So I just wrap him in a towel to try to keep his little belly/chest hair from catching. I'm going to see about getting your model of Dremel to make it even easier for him. I could not go back to nailclippers to save my life. I'm too chicken. |

I'm wondering if one is quieter than another-anyone know? |
1 Attachment(s) I ordered the 7700 model from Amazon for $44.00 and was in Walmart Wednesday morning and they have it for $39.88:rolleyes: My shipment came in on Friday and I tried it on Bogie Friday night. He was a really good boy. I was being very careful but his long leg hair caught:eek::( Thank GOD that I got it turned of immediately and it didn't wind around the post and hurt him. I couldn't get his nails through the pantyhose either and tried to think what to do. I debated putting his jammies on every time I use it, but that would be a PITA so I happened to think, I had ordered 4 pairs of socks for Jada to wear when she is itchy and those suckers are huge. I cut the toe out of one of the socks and they are long enough that they cover all of the long hair on the legs(my babies are shaved on their bodies and bellies:D It worked so well....except for Jada, she went wild when I put the sock on her foot;) I think I should have took Bogie into another room to do his nails, because she was sitting next to us watching....poor little thing probably thought I was killing her brother:D here is a pic of Bogie with the sock on his foot before I cut the toe out...Attachment 367730 |

I think the 7300 is probably fine. It has a smaller motor but that won't necessarily make it quieter. It could take slightly longer to file is all. It looks a little lighter which is nice (the one I have is solid bodied and the 7300 looks hollow in the center of the handle) If you happen to have larger dogs in the house as well or would ever consider using this tool for more than just nails, I would go with the 7700 but overall you can't beat $20! |

I used the Dremel on Curri Bee :bee: yesterday. For a baby (6 months) she did great! She wouldn't help me out by laying in an accessible position  but she wasn't scared at all :thumbup: |
I put the bigger sanding disc on mine today and love it better than the small one. Bogie does great getting his done...Jada the tigress is another story. This morning I decided a 5lb dog was not going to get the best of me. I put her on my lap, and on her back and she started started fighting me. I calmly told her no..and kept holding on to her foot. The first paw as a struggle, but when she realized I wasn't going to give in, she was still for the last 3 paws. I LOVE IT!! Much better than nail clippers!! |

I love the bigger sanding disc much better too. I felt a little uncertain using your on Friday with the smaller disc. Seems counter intuitive but it works  |

I know this is a old thread but I'm in the process of purchasing a grinder. I'm trying to decide between Dremel 7700 and 7300. Does anyone know if one is quieter than the other? Also, for the 7700, it comes with other grits/finishes. Which ones do you use on your yorkie? For 7700, low speed is at 10,000 rpm... Is this too strong for a 5.5 lbs yorkie? I'd appreciate any feedback! Thanks! |

I have the pedi paws and I am thinking of getting a dremel as well. The pedi paws just takes too long. Poor Ricky has curly nails and if they get too long, they end up getting stuck in his beard when he scratches. I just had to trim them last night and he hates his feet touched. |
