Kids and Multiple dogs Do any of you have kids and 2 or more dogs? People act like I'm crazy that I have 2 dogs and 2 kids. I love kids and animals! Snuggling with my dogs is such a stress reliever too!:) |
I don't have yet, but eventually I'd like to have a child-pet house-zoo :D |
My Daughter was 5 when we got our 2. She is 11 now and they are 6 so they have grown up with her. We have 5 cats too and goldfish and koi and a turtle in our pond so we are definitley a zoo. We are animal lovers |
When all of my three kids were young we had 2 cats and 2 dogs, roughly 10 birds, one ferret and one guinea pig. My oldest stepson worked at a pet store and brought everything home that didn't have homes. We managed well and all three boys helped out. My oldest now is married and has 2 dogs. The middle son is trying to buy a house so he can get a yorkie and the youngest is still home with the 2 dogs we have now. Kids and animals are wonderful, some of my best family pictures include one of the kids with one of the animals. |
I have 5 kids (oldest is 20 and youngest is 8), 6 cats, 3 dogs, and a Russian Tortoise. People think that I'm nuts (especially my ex-husband) - I don't care though. Our house is full of love and fun. It's a lot of work to keep things in order and free from pet-hair, but I wouldn't have it any other way!!! |
No, but one of my best friends has.... 5 dogs, 1 cat, 2 rabbits (all inside), 3+ barn cats, two goats, 3 horses and two ponds full of fish. I really do feel like I'm visiting a petting zoo when I go over there :D |
I have two kids and now 2 dogs. My kids are older. My youngest is 17. Some folks say I am crazy because of the expense. I love dogs and grew up having them. I may not be rich but I am wealthy in what counts. I love my two kids and I love my dogs! |
I loved reading all the stories. It brought a smile to my face. I'd love to visit your homes full of animals. Those homes are full of happiness and love.:p |

That's so funny, I never thought of having 2 kids and 2 dogs as being a lot! After all, everybody needs a buddy, right? I have 1 kid, 2 dogs, and 4 cats. I would definitely add another kid or 2 to the mix! I might even be brave enough to add another dog. :eek: Heck, if I could find another place to stash another litter box, I'd consider another kitty as well. ;) I think it's great that you have 2 dogs and 2 kids! I guess some people will find something to criticize about no matter what you do, though. You're among animal lovers here, so I think we all think you're just fine! |

I have 2 children and soon to be 2 puppies. We also have 2 terrapins! Lol |
I have a zoo. We have a son and a daughter (12 and 9). We're planning on one more baby (twins if I'm extra lucky). We have a rabbit, 3 dogs, 6 small parrots, and one Betta. We plan on having a couple more aquariums someday. |
We have 7 kids and have had up to 5 dogs at one time. Currently though, we only have 3 kids still living with us and we have 4 dogs. The kids were always taught to be good to the dogs and the dogs were raised around the kids. We got all our dogs as puppies and they grew up with kids in the house. |
