I think my yorkie is depressed. Hi everyone, I got my yorkie Gus about 5 years ago and not to long after that my boyfriend and I moved in together. About a month ago we broke up and he moved out, now Gus seems depressed. I talked to the vet but nothing seems to help. Everyday when he knew my boyfriend would be home from work he would wait outside, so now at that time we go to the park or the pet store to pick out treats. He eats and plays but hes always waiting for him to get home from work and always seems so sad. Is there anything I can do to help him get over the break up? Thanks Camio & Gus :animal-pa |
Aw, he's missing his Daddy. Poor baby. No doubt he's grieving his loss but over time, he will come around and accept his new life. Dogs adjust to bad things just like we do. Sounds like you are helping to redirect his expectations at homecoming time, etc., and that will start to help - that & time. |
Im just worried that like in people he will get to depressed and not want to do things. I can tell he has less fun at the park but hes still willing to go. People keep telling me he can tell when Im sad so we go on trips together to cheer us both up! But I still find him at the foot of the bed waiting for his daddy. |
