Lp both knees at the same time Is this a good idea? I would obviously take a couple weeks off from work to take care of her, but I don't remember discussing this with our Ortho, would they, should they, do both at same time? I hate to have her go under anesthetic anymore than she already has... |
I wouldn't do it I would think it would put to much weight on the healing knee and there is no way for them to limp and slowly start using it. Plus even with pain meds one is uncomfortable I could not imagine double the pain. |

Yes of course, this makes sense. Isn't it funny how when its our own pups we sometimes aren't able to think straight? lol Poor Mini, 2 more surgeries...uggggh |
On the other hand, it's one surgery, so all the pain and suffering is done and over with at the same time. Mojo has LP in both his back knees and will require surgery at some point down the road. His ortho was quite comfortable doing both at the same time. Actually, both vets I consulted were. I know I've read posts from people whose pups have had this surgery. Maybe search them and see how they feel? I have some time before making a final decision, but I am leaning towards doing both at once. |
