Vectra for fleas I've never heard of this stuff, but my vet recommended it and treated Charlie with it while he was there last week. Anyone have experience with this stuff. I trust the vets opinion. Just mentioning it to see and also to bring it up in case anyone else is wanting to know about other flea treatments out there for their pets. |
My vet also recommends vecta. I did buy it and use it this time; however, I only used a half of the tube on each of my girls. I didn't see any type of reaction from them or notice a bad smell at all. I have not seen any fleas at all. Both girls have had ticks. Rosie one and Mikki three. :(:( All are dead when we pulled them off. So I do think the 1/2 a tube is still working. My vet don't even sell Frontline any more. And is highly pushing Vectra. |
It seems like good stuff. I didn't notice anything that suggested he had any type of reaction to it and I can't find a trace of a flea on him. It's the same price as frontline too. |

Hello, My Yorkie has been on Vectra 3D since she was 3 months old. She's now almost 14 months old and she's never had a flea. I did choose to use only 1/2 of the tube after the first time though because she did get sick hours after the 1st. full tube or it could have been a coincidence at the time. |
I've not tried Vectra, in fact I did my best to use all natural products the last two years... I fear I'll have to go the chemical route this year, but Disclaimers like this one from a Vectra page always give me pause: If On Skin. . . Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center, doctor, or 1-800-999-0297 or after 6 pm EST 1-888-426-4435 immediately for treatment advice. Have the product container or label with you when calling a poison control center or doctor or going for treatment. You may contact 1-800-999-0297 or after 6 pm EST call 1-888-426-4435 for emergency medical information. I'm supposed to apply it directly to their skin, but immediately rinse it off of mine AND call poison control... and I weigh a lot more than they do. |
