Ear Problems? I have a 4 year old yorkie female I have had her since she was a puppy. About the last 1 and a half she keeps getting ear infections. We clean them and she gets antibiotics but in a few weeks in comes back. There is a bad smell and she rubs her head on the ground and couch when she has them. Anyone know of a way to reduce the ear infections? |
One of YT's exhibitor members had a terrible time with ear infections on one of her pups years ago. She recommended using an ear cleaner with a drying agent after each bath. I use Vet Solutions ear cleaner. Keep the ears clean and free from hair, and dry. You may also want to consult a specialist. |
My vet suggested alcohol & vinegar...........1/2 & 1/2 mixture. Vinegar kills bacteria & alcohol helps to dry out the fluid........Worth a try.......... |
I use Zymox after each bath. Tatiana gets bathed once a week. Also, as a preventative for ear mites, I use R-7M every two weeks. For R-7M, I use it the next day after bath day (when her ears have been cleaned). |
