Is there a decent sub for Science Diet i/d I can ask about? Princess got sick last June/July with pancreatitis & was put on S.D. i/d. So far so good with her tummy, knock on wood, but she's having the itchies. I thought it could be from the meds for a while, then she improved some, then she did get fleas:mad:, they're seemingly gone, yet she's still itching though not aggressively. This girl never used to itch ever, plus she'll lick her paws. We go to the vet Monday & they said the vet will try to rule out other things before doing the allergy tests. My finger is pointed at the food. If the vet agrees is there something you'd recommend I bring up as a sub to come to a conclusion? I still want her on a tummy sensitive diet, don't ever want to take another chance of sickness if I can help it. Of course I'm not going to go in there & boss the doc around:p but I'd like to have a little info up my sleeve to take with me. Any suggestions? |
Royal Canin LF Purina EN ...though I wouldn't say these foods are particularly good for allergies. Purina HA is low fat and one of the best for allergies. Some vets may save this one for awhile. |

I just took Rosie off of SD I/D. I am now home cooking for her. I used Dr. Rebecca Remillard to get the supplements and recipe for her. Since she has been on the home cooking we have had no tummy issues at all. I am glad that I changed her because I think she is doing so much better on it. Here is the site if you are interested. About our founder Or feel free to pm me if you would like. I know not everyone agrees with the home cooking but it sure has benefited Rosie. |
One of my pups and one of my fosters is on Purina EN and doing fantastic! :) They do not have allergies, though. |
