Suddenly Bad Breath Hello All, For two days now Miss Mini has had bad breath. Her teeth are pearly white, gums appear normal, food and treats the same. I don't see any other symptoms at this time. Miss Mini has never had bad breath and is not a typical dog when it comes to licking...she never licks *herself*. Should I be alarmed? Thank you, Lynn |
Could Miss Mini have a piece of food or piece of a toy stuck between her teeth? If it continues, I would go to the vet and have them check. |
Taycie has pearly white teeth. I noticed her breath would stink from time to time and she gets her teeth brushed twice daily. She also has an extremely senstive stomach. Her diet switch made all the difference. Her stinky breath was caused by her stomach:( That could also be a possibility:) |
How old is she? Puppies teeth around 6 months and their breath can get very stinky from losing teeth. |
Mini is 6 1/2 years old, I checked all her teeth - nothing that I can see. I just can't figure it out. I purchased some greenie chew stix, I will use that for now. Its just so strange and leaves an unsettled feeling for me! Thank You Lynn |

Mini is going to the vet tomorrow morning, her breath seems a little better, but I just need to have it checked out. Thanks for your replies, I will update after appointment. |

UPDATE:"Agita" a.k.a. Acid reflux! Poor Miss Mini she has been to the vet and thankfully her "agita" (we are Italian!) acted up and then as usual the vet walked me through the last few days and had I put it all together I would have figured it out on my own! I am so glad I have the best vet in my area! She is able to drag out symptoms from me that I don't even realize are symptoms...(duh moments). Miss Mini will be taking Pepcid and Sucralfate daily now! Thanks all! |
