new yorkie biting older yorkie My 4 month old runs after and bites my 11 year old. Have tried so many things and he is playing and not being mean but am feeling frustrated. They are both male and even when the older one bites him back, he does not stop. Help!:) |
Your 11 year old needs a place where he can get up and away from the 4 month old annoying puppy behavior. He needs his own space where he can rest; at 11 he probably is not interested in puppy play 24/7. Your little one probably has a ton of energy - can you help him to get rid of some that excess energy by walking him, throwing a ball, etc. Is he playing or is this turning into fighting? |
I thought this is what puppies do to get the older dogs to play with them. When your older dog has had enough, he'll let the puppy know, if I were you, I'd keep out of it. I agree with Ringo, it's good if the older dog has a place to go, that's off limits to the puppy. |
Lucy still annoys Ringo to get him to play with her. She paws at his face and bites his nose until he plays with her. Most times, he's ok with this - but she cannot read his body language at ALL. The other day, he wasn't feeling well, hadn't eaten. . . and she kept on pawing at his face. I could see right away that this wasn't going to go over and put him up on my bed so he could have some peace. If I hadn't given him some peace - he would have 'corrected' her. Since he's a LOT bigger and she just had surgery . . didn't want her running to get away. Anyway, a little OT - but Lucy is 2 and she still bites at Ringo to get him to play. |
Hi is playing and I have been walking him more and playing ball to get him tired :) |
Yes, the older one, Dunkin does have a place to go as the little one cannot get up on the couch as yet :) I have had Jake almost 2 months and this is still going on and I can tell it is very playful and he is not being mean. Appreciate all the help :) |
