Reverse Sneezing I've read that reverse sneezing isn't really a big deal...but is there ever a time when it would be considered a big deal? Bitsy was doing it every now and then, but last night she really had a bad case of it..doing it over and over again |
Yikes! Did no one respond to your question? I can't really help because I found it in a search. My Sophie did it last night and again this morning and it freaked me out. She has never done it before and she is 2 1/2 yo. I looked on youtube and saw some videos which showed me that it was indeed reverse sneezing and not something more dreadful. Some people on there said to cover their nostrils for a bit and it appeared to help someone. It is VERY scarey to see your beloved pup doing this.:( |
I think I had an experience with this with my little baby Amara. But it went away. When I would bathe her I think the water would enter her nose and block her breathing passages. I took her to the vet and they gave me antibiotics. Because it sounded like she had a little cold but she was also sneezing out mucus too. Like a little child with a cold. Maybe you should keep an eye on her. And if her eyes are runny and she's sneezing out mucus it could be just a little cold. When you bathe her try not to let her go outside too early. I hope this helps. I don't really know too many things about Yorkshire Terriers since Amara is my first one and she is only like 7 months old. I'm sorry I can't help you more. I wish for the best for your little baby. Also I heard that when a dog starts to reverse sneeze they are trying to clear their breathing passages which leads me back to the antibiotics. Maybe there's just like small dust particles that she inhaled or something. Sorry. I can't be more assistance. Hope you have a great day. |

Jada reverse sneezes if she is around dust and every once in a while she will if she gets overly excited . I just pick her up and blow in her nose and that will usually stop it. I know they say it isn't dangerous, but it freaks me out every time she does it. I am scared that she is going to choke to death. |
No, it's just a throat spasm. It looks so scary, I know. I cover Baby's nostrils. But the more excited she is, the longer it takes for her to stop. |
