Is your yorkie puppy as ravenous as mine seems to be ? My 16 week old Oscar always seems hungry but he gets 1/4 cup of Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier Puppy 29 3 times per day. Am i not feeding him enough or this normal yorkie behaviour ? Your advice appreciated, Thanks. |
My Snickers would never eat at 16 weeks he was and always will be so picky, my fatty :) Reesie will eat all day and night! They are all different, puppies can over eat so be careful. Viv |
Mine can be a pretty picky eater but I had to say oh my goodness your puppy is so darn cute! |
Just wanted to say how cute your little one is...wish Lexi would eat...LOL She just turned 3 and eating can be a big chore to say the least! |
thanks so much everyone, i guess i won't worry then. his breeder free fed so i just know he overate there because if i put down a whole cup of food at one time he would eat it. i will keep an eye on his weight. i have a baby scale that i weigh him each week. oh yes, i think he's pretty cute too thanks. |
Bella is only 4 mos old but she is on free feed. I would guess the amount you are feeding is a good amount. Bella and Brussels combined go through about 3/4 of a cup per day on their own. Quality of food has a lot to do with it as well. The richer the food, the less they'll need/eat. |
Thank you so much, i feel much better now.. I am guessing he is just a little piglet, lol |
She sounds like my Mia. I have to watch her because she will finish up her food and then go after Kobe's. LOL |
My two adult dogs are the same way. They get four small meals a day and still act like they are starving. I hate that they beg for more (and more) Sometimes I wonder if I'm feeding them enough, but my vet insists they are ideal weight and they are active so we stick with this plan. |
I think as long as you are not grossly overfeeding according to the package directions, he'll be just fine. They burn so much energy and have so many growth spurts as pups, I'd not be able to withhold food if he seems really hungry. Consider yourself blessed with a good eater, and just keep an eye that his body size stays proportional. BTW, what a little CUTIE he is!! :p |
