Bully Stick I just looked up what it was and still have a question. How long do they last? Thank you. |
How long they last depends on the size you get and how aggressive a chewer you have. ZoE is an aggressive chewer and can demolish a 6inch standard bullystick in 30-40 minutes. |
A 12" one can last Callie a few days or a few hours it just depends on how aggressive she is chewing that day. |
Another thing that makes them last longer is the moisture content; some have much more moisture and therefore are softer so the dog can chew them more easily. I look for ones with low moisture content, and I'm very happy with Merrick's Bully Sticks. They are more expensive, but a 6 inch one can last a week, and Joey chews on it every night. If your dog can chew a stick in an hour, it's more of a snack than a chewing aid. The idea is to give them something safer than bones, yet hard enough to actually chew on, and this is where they are most effective in cleaning teeth. |
bully sticks I buy mine from Westbrook Dog and I love them. Winston can usually get a couple of days out of them. Don't let your dog chew after they become small enough to swallow! their website is WestbrookDog.com I found them here on yorkie forum, they ship very fast |
A 12" one typically will last Jackson a few days. Most of the time, he chews recreationally, every now and then, and doesn't aggressively chew. So yeah, he's 16lbs and will take approx. 3 days to finish to a 12" stick. on average. I get odor free standards from bestbullysticks. |
A 6 inch one usually lasts Belle a couple of days. I've also gotten the thicker ones and the braided ones so they will last longer for her. |
