I have a 11 week old puppy that I am starting to housebreak but her has accidents and sometimes smells like pee. How old should she be before I bathe her

You can either wipe them with a warm washcloth or give them a bath at that age.

Well, Jersey is now a freshly bathed little boy!!!! It went pretty well for his first bath, thanks to all of your help. I really appreciate it. Now I have a headache from cranking the heat in the mud room, where I bathed him in the sink! I used a puppy shampoo made by Earthbath, all natural and extra gentle. I think I like it. I also used Pantene conditioner. I put the towels in the microwave. I also used the blow dryer and he did suprisingly well with it.

After it was all said and done he seemed so proud of himself! And he looks so handsome! I can say now that he did need a bath. His hair looks alot better. I took a couple photos and when I figure out how to do it, I will post them in the photo section, so look for Jersey's First Bath!

LOL, Joey is the same way, I swear he struts around after a bath acting like he is so gorgeous. Glad everything went well, each success you have makes them a little more confident.

:D Yay! You are too nice...poor Bella got room temp everything! I never thought of warming her towels! Although she enjoys my hair dryer on low temp....even when I am just doing my own hair. :)

Well glad you got a yorkie, but they need their bath.
I bath my every 7-10 at home, and every month 1/2 or 2 month, I take them to the groomer for hair cute !!!
Since they go out everyday, I wipe them down everyday, and they love their brush.
Now my new babies didn't get a bath until their 12 week, and now that they're 14 week , I just took them in to get their 3rd set of shots, The vet said I can start brushing their teeths. Now that will be done every bath day.
Yorkies are high maintenance, compare to other breeds.:animal36

Our baby hates water! If its raining he doesn't want to go outside for his walk and when I bath him he hates it, shakes terribly, and tries to climb out all the time. Any ideas on how to help him get used to it?

Be gentle and try to make it a great experience. Maybe tell him he's a good boy and keep a few treats close by to help him get used to it.

I told Jersey that he was a good boy the entire time! And he really was! I didn't give him treats the whole time but once he was out of the sink and in his towel I did. The warm towels really helped. Thanks everyone! I posted 3 pics in the picture section. Before, during and after bath.

I do find that they do like the sprayer better and in the tub and very warm towels.

I don't even get warm towels LOl !!

My 11week old puppy is biting and nipping we tried saying no everytime but it is not working. I also tried flicking his nose and then he gets crazy. Is this normal

Don't flick his nose, he's teething and needs to bite and chew. The YTCA recommends that puppies stay with mothers until at least 12 weeks and she teaches him the beginnings of potty training as well as inhibition of the biting reflex, meaning not to bite too hard. Because you got him early, you will have more of a problem, but this isn't his fault, he's doing what comes naturally. When he bites say "no" firmly or some people say, you should let out a little "yelp". and set him down. Give him a chewing toy. I realy think it's good to have a chewing toy or stick in your hands everytime you want to hold the puppy, they really need to chew and bite and nibble. You really should teach him that no pain will ever come from your hands, if you hurt him with your hands, he'll learn to be fearful of hands, and could end up biting someone as an adult.

Well I got in the tub with Charlie and myself and my daughter bathed him together under the sprayer. He wasn't too happy but he didn't shake or struggle too much so it was a success! Thanks for the tips x

Great , I'm so happy it work for you. Now don't forget to brush his teeths.
I start doing the teeths about the same time, And yes my do eat some of it before I'm done brushing.

I had sort of given up on his teeth as he is like a baby and sucks the toothbrush so I can't brush lol

I use the finger tip little brush that came with the bigger toothbrush, I know it really funny and they eat everything , but he will get use to it, so when u do the brush he won't fight you on it . He will need his teeths clean or he will have bad teeths later on in life. Just fyi .
