Plaque Attack?? Is it safe? Does it work? Have you, or do you, use it? |
Im wondering the same thing |
Never heard of Plaque Attack. But I like Petzlife and HealthyMouth. HealthyMouth contains no alcohol and was proven to work and approved by VOHC. It is pricey though. Hopefully when it becomes more popular, it becomes a bit easier to afford. |
Brit, tell me about HealthyMouth. Is it a spray/paste and where can I get it? I forgot to say I've seen plaque attack advertised on tv. |

You can see their site here and the test trial they ran: http://www.healthymouth.com/Articles.asp?ID=303 I bought the gel and yes, it was super pricey, but he tolerates it very well. It's a small little tube with a little brush-thingy on the end and he doesn't seem to mind it; whereas he hates Petzlife and starts sneezing, lol. Jackson had his dental in November so his teeth are still shiny white but we've been brushing almost every night with CET toothpaste and use HealthyMouth about 2x a week in conjunction with PlaqueOff poured over his food and they are still shiny white over a month later... I guess I'll be able to give a better review in a year or two after using it. |

dog::ESSENTIAL |
I saw the commercials for Plaque Attack and ordered it. Perkins breath was horrid and this stuff got rid of it instantly. I have seen a real improvement in the plaque being dissolved. I just spray his teeth every nite and will continue to use. |
recent doctor visit Took Max to the vet for yearly check up and doc found that max teeth had some plague build up. Of course this concerns me due to the fact that this could cause teeth loss.:confused: I have been giving him denta sticks daily. She suggested brushing his teeth. I can imagine this will be quiet the task! I may try plaque attack. I am always just a little weary about new products causing worse problems down the line. How long has this been out? :aimeeyork |
I don't really think DentaStix will do much, honestly. They are not very hard, I can break them very easily, I don't see how it would do much for the teeth. Brushing is really the best thing, IMO, and probably the safest, but like I said, I do use the other products in conjunction with brushing (petzlife, plaqueoff, and healthymouth). The thing that concerns me with some of the products, including petzlife, is it does contain alcohol. I don't feel I use it enough nor is there enough alcohol in it to make a huge difference in my 16lb dog, so we still use it once a week or so on a night when we don't brush, etc. |

Still evaluating. I've used the plaque attack for about a month and a half. I spray and then brush their teeth daily with the plaque attack. I only use doggie toothpaste on bath day because it makes their beard sticky. It does seem to soften the tartar, but so far I'm still unable to scrape it off with my nails. I also have a maltese that just got her dental at the vet, so I'm continuing it with her to to see if it helps keep the tartar at bay. |
