Reassurance Latte is nine years old and has always done this. She sounds like a goose honking! It's really creepy and I know what you mean-it sounds like she's going to drop dead right in front of me. But she's always been fine! I read an article about it once and they suggested that you gently put your hand on her nose and this makes her swallow, which will sometimes stop it. These little princesses are so high-maintenance!! But, adorable!:p |

My boy, Bevo does this too... Mainly when hea really excited or has eaten or drank too fast!! He is always fine too.... But it does scare me as well!! But, I'm sure they are fine!! |

Bella does this when I first let them out of their kennel in the am. They are so excited and she sounds like she can't catch her breath. It seems to happen more on colder mornings?:? but doesn't last long. Tillie doesn't do it, but our previous furbaby did quite often. If you're still concerned, maybe give your vet a call, or ask them about it at the next visit. |

what would be helpful for your vet is to video her honking/sneezing, and bring this into you when you visit your vet; to ask questions about this. |

took bella to the vet today, te vet said it feels like soft muscle in her trachea which could relax from time to time and cause her to feel like there is somthing stuck in her throat, she just told us to keep an eye on her and if it gets any worse the are gonna do an xray, she said this is common in yorkies and small dogs and she should be fine :) i feel much better about it bella is doing fine and has been treated with a new harness and a jumbone :) x |

Throat Noises My little Maggie does this as well but my Oliver does not. |

I was just going to suggest you take her to the vet and let them do an x-ray. Kayla has collasped trachea and we have to really be careful with her. In fact, she just had an episode laying under my chair about 10min. ago. I just gently rub her throat very easy up and down until she relaxes. We keep the house cool for her, run a humidifer at nite and try to keep her from getting too excited over things. Keeping the weight down too is probably the most important thing you can do. Good luck. Hope your baby doesn't have it but if the spells keep on I would have an x-ray done. |
