Lump/bump I was rubbing Callie while I was sitting in the chair tonight and I noticed kinda between her neck and shoulder a lump/bump not sure what you would call it because its not on the skin its under the skin and it moves around slightly when I touch it. Her skin is not red, looks completely normal and it does not hurt her for me to touch it also it is about the size of the tip of my pinky. Me being a worry wart I am going to be keeping a very close eye on it and if it hasnt gotten smaller or gone away by monday night we will be going to the vet but if it gets bigger or seems to hurt her we will be going to the vet monday. Has anyone's baby had a bump like that and what was it? I know you cant tell what it is by not actually seeing it but hoping someone has had a similar problem and that it was nothing to worry about so I'm not freaking out until I get her to the vet. |
Our six year old yorkie had one under her neck. She had it removed (had to be under anesthesia ). It turned out to be a benign cyst. Pam |

Not sure what it could be but I will say prayers for little Miss Callie. Let us know what your vet says. |

Too big to be a microchip? I think I know what you're talking about, but am blanking on the name. Ellie has one. It's a smooth lump about pinky-sized that moves all over in there (her vet has never had one move that much). It's right around her left shoulder blade. I'll have to get the name of it tmw. Anyway, if it's that, then it's probably nothing at all. Wouldn't even worry about it over the weekend unless it gets bigger quickly. Of course always have the vet check lumps and bumps when you are unsure, but no reason to panic. |

With bumps, removal is always a possibility depending on what the vet thinks, but they are almost always dismissed as nothing or watched to make sure they don't get bigger. Ellie's has stayed the same for months to years. I want to say it's a lipoma, but think I'm forgetting something. Forgot to ask the vet today. |

My Yorkies seem to enjoy a rub down or massage, and it's a good thing. When I first adopted Marley, he had a bump on his chest. The doctor missed it on the first exam, but I asked him to check it later. It was a tick! It was buried so deep, it felt like a bump under his skin. I rub my boys down every day, so I know what they should feel like. If there's a strange bump, I can tell it right away. |
Part of Callies night time routine is that I rub down her back feeling with my finger tips, then she rolls over and I rub/check her belly, then clean her eyes if there goopy, check her ears, check the corners of her mouth for the hair that can flip and be in her mouth, and then rub around her little head/face making sure to feel with the finger tips. I started doing that when the ticks where so bad and now if I dont do it she doesn't want to go to bed and it really doesnt take as long as it sounds lol. My grandma jokes that I know every single thing about her physically and I really do :) |
Update Went to the vet today and she looked at the lump/bump and said that its to small and because of how its moving it would move when trying to stick a needle in it to get a sample so she said to just keep an eye on it and if it gets bigger to come back in. She thinks it may just be a little bump of like fat. |
