From Meat pouches to Dry Food.!!! Dustie has been on Pedigree Meat pouches now since a pup..i.e/. 2 half years...and seemed o.k. on it...but decided to change to a dry food...as some friends seem to think it will calm him down a bit...I have for the last 3 days been giving him Purina small bite mix..as instructed...but trouble is he gobbles it down so fast..and is bringing it back up all day...like it isn't being digested..and he is regurgitating all the time..My hubby says to stick with it..but what do any of you think...Should I go back to meat pouches..as he was never sick with that at all. I am a bit confused really..he is a greedy dog..will eat anything..but is not taking to dry food...he thinks a meat meal is to follow so he eats as fast as possible...Help.!!! Any Advice... If it were my dog, I'd feed smaller meals more frequently. This way there is less to digest each time. There are bowls that have obstacles in them that make the dog have to work harder for his food. This way, they can't eat as fast. If you want him on kibble, you'll have to stick with it. Though, I have NO idea how kibble would help the dog calm down. Only walks and exercise will do that. There's no easy way to get rid of young dog energy! Either way, I would consider finding a higher quality food to feed him. |
