Would a broken baby tooth cause SUPER smelly breath? Is it related? Hopefully so. Just made an appt. for bloodwork the 3rd & two extractions on the 11th of November. She said they can look on the 3rd to see what's going on. If it is actual gum disease or something should she be on antibiotics or something before they pull her teeth? When they examined her teeth a couple months ago she did not need a dental & had virtually no plaque. Seeing the broken tooth is all I can tell is different. No plaque is visible to me (except what I clean between the baby & adult teeth) & no new food. Her only treats are fruits & veggies & rarely boiled chicken or a pinch of tuna (in water) & I can't see them causing the bad breath. I mostly brush her teeth with water & a teeny, tiny bit of toothpaste. Honestly I've been paranoid about aggravating her stomach issues with toothpaste or a spray. I'll be discussing that as well. |
Yes, any baby tooth retention can cause bad breath. How is it broken? Did it snap off at the gumline? I'm not sure waiting a month for a broken tooth to be pulled is best for her mouth. And also if the gums are irritated in the area, she could be in quite a bit of pain. |
The bottom tip looks like it broke straight off. She does not appear to be in pain, I usually have to clean between it and the next tooth to get food or tennis ball fuzz out. I'm guessing she broke it when we were playing, though I'm not rough with her sometimes she roughens things up before I know what's coming. The only other hard thing she gets is her kibble & it's not that hard. She wont chew anything else & doesn't have access to rocks or anything. The vet seemed ok to wait until then so I think we'll plan on it unless another issue arises. I just know that if an human's tooth is infected/painful sometimes the dentist wont work on it until they've been on anti's for a while. If we go back for a derma recheck I'll have them look, but so far so good on that note.:) |
How weird that at a year and ten months, after I schedule the extractions, one of Princess's baby teeth has fell out! So all that's left is the chipped one, does that mean less $$$:p? Bloodwork Thurs. then hopefully in a couple of weeks her breath will be...welcomed again :rolleyes:. |
