Ugh not suppose to eat
 

So Geno pretty much did what my boyfriend feared he would do. My boyfriend sleeps with this squishy body pillow that has a billion teeny tiny little pellets in it. Well when I fell asleep with Geno, and my boyfriend was still downstairs, Geno had found a way to rip the pillow open through the zipper part of the pillow where a battery pack used to go. I woke up to my boyfriend frantically running around, Geno barking in his crate, and little white tiny pellets on the bed. I asked him if he was okay and my boyfriend said yeah, he just had some little teeny pellets on him that I cleaned off.

Anyways, so we woke up this morning and found his stool and there were some of those pellets in his stool. My boyfriend is telling me not to worry but with everyone talking about pancreatitis and doggy sickness, it makes me really nervous. The size of these pellets are incredibly small but still. I don't want him to get sick. We go to the vet on Thursday for his rabies shot and to talk to the doctor about any concerns we have. I just am not sure if it would be ok to wait that long or if I shouldn't worry and these pellets will just pass through his stool and he will be okay. :(

I'm not one to run to the vet for every little thing... so I would personally say he will be okay. Little pellets can be passed easily, and it sounds like they are, so I wouldn't be overly concerned.

My dads JRT has swallowed everything :rolleyes: She eats water balloons in the summer... we always keep them up but she always manages to find one or two. She also eats my little brother's bullet-things for his air soft gun. She got x-rayed a few weeks ago because we were concerned about the balloons but nothing was there... she always passed them and we would find them in her stool.

Ugh, dogs! :( Mention your concern to your vet, but I am sure it will be fine!

I'm sure it will be fine too. They aren't sharp and they seem to be passing through OK

Ok, thanks guys! I am a huge worry wart, especially about him haha

It's probably fine, but there are things to consider. I assume they weren't toxic because they were part of a pillow? How many did he get? A few or a ton? Are his stools formed and coming regularly or not? Is he throwing up? In generaly it wouldn't be a concern (as long as not toxic) as long as they don't bunch together. I don't know the likelihood of that happening bc I don't even know what they look like. So I'd be following the protocol for ingestion of non-toxic but potentially obstructive material - small meals every 4-6 hours to move things through and vomiting = immediate vet visit.

He's passing them through and his stool is normal looking and pretty solid. There are a good number of them in his stool but the majority of his stool is, well, actual stool. He hasn't thrown up or anything and has been acting like his normal self, thank god! I'll still keep an eye on him, but I should be okay.

I know what type of beads you're talking about. My husband has the same kind of pillow and to me (it's the smaller one) it looks like a tootsie rool. Anywho, those little pellets should pass.

Crystal, they look like tiny BB gun pellets, but they're plastic.
