Lifes Abundance Food? Lily is 3 yrs old and she has been on Lifes Abundance dry food forever. She eats very few treats and has never liked treats that well but she is a real good little eater with her dry food. Recently I have noticed that there is no "crunching sound" when she chews her food like it used to be?? Does anyone know if the Lifes Abundance food has changed their formula or something?? Lily has tarter on her teeth and she just got that way in past few months because her teeth were always fine when the vet checked her before. I'm thinking about trying other food but have no idea what to try?? |
Do you brush her teeth regularly? While food may or may not make a difference I think daily brushing is key for the best results. I have never tried Life's Abundance before. I would contact the company and ask them about a recent formula change. |
We have used the LA food for over 5 years. The forumla hasn't changed from what i can tell. She may be just swallowing the kibbles without chewing. I have a couple of my girls that do that. If her teeth hurt, she may not be chewing because of that. If she has a lot of tarter, her gums could be inflamed causing discomfort. If she is 3 years old, maybe you could have a dental done on her to get all the tarter removed and then start brushing after that. No matter what food you choose, the tarter is probably going to build up if you don't brush her teeth. |
What type of tooth paste if any do you use? |

Thank you all ... Lily goes back to the vet on Monday and I am going to discuss getting her teeth cleaned then. I think you all are right that she is just swollowing her food and not chewing!! She digests LA very well and she has been eating it her entire 3 yrs of her life!! I am very satisfied with the dog food and the LA company is the best IMO!! I just never experienced a change like this in her before so I thought I would post and see what kind of input I got here!! THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR REPLIES!!! |
