Does everyone vaccinate?? I stopped bEcause, everytime she got them she was getting sick! I don't know whether I should try again? I want to take her to the groomer but I'm afraid she will get something because shes not vaccinated |
Depends on how many she has had, which ones, and at what times.. Both of my dogs get rabies. One gets DHPP every 3 years and lepto every year. The other no longer gets any of it. |
If she's not tolerating vaccines, maybe talk to your vet about doing titers to check for any immunity. If the titers are negative, then the vaccines possibly are not working so no sense in continuing to give them to her. Also it's important to give the vaccines separately, especially to small dogs. More than a DHPP or a Rabies at one time will throw them off their game for up to 2 weeks or more. Mine get the DHPP then a month later the Rabies. My 14 year old won't be getting any vaccines anymore, and I'm still deciding about my other 3. |
I would never skip out of the puppy or one year boosters. And unfortunately, to oblige the law, I must give rabies every 3 years. However I am undecided about the others. Jackson will be 3 in October and will be "due" for DHPP again at 4 years old. But unsure if I'm even going to do it.... maybe one more time at 4 but after that, never again (except rabies). |
