Horrible Yorkie Breath My lul girl is the sweetest thing. Only 7 lbs., she always wants to be on top of me, is very affectionate. The only problem I have with this is: her breath is AWFUL. I mean, maybe the most offensive dog breath I have ever smelled. It's disgusting. We do have a "denta bone" she really likes that does seem to help temporarily, but is there anything else I can do-- perhaps more regularly? It seriously smells like vomit or something, it's unbearable! |

I concur. If your pup is very young and still losing a baby teeth, then this can be normal and you wouldn't have to do anything (except brush). Not much that can be done during this stage.. If they haven't all fallen out and she is 10-12+ months old, then they can be pulled. If this is an adult, a dental is probably needed. A vet should assess her mouth asap. All dogs should get their teeth brushed at least once daily. |

I agree. Dental cleaning and any tooth extractions and a good brushing program. Get that baby to the vet ASAP since the worst odor could be due to a tooth that is ready to abscess through the skin! You won't necessarily be able to tell by looking, either. A real vet needs to examine your dog. Plus, diseases can cause bad breath so you need a check up for that but get that baby in soon as a tooth could be ready to break through the skin from infection. |
