Strange lump found on yorkie's back 2 Attachment(s) Hi everyone. I joined this forum as i'm a little bit concerned about a lump that we found on our dog Zak's back this evening. Zak is three years old and is a very healthy, energetic and happy dog... and even though he has this lump on his back he is still exactly the same. I have taken some photos (or atleast tried to, he wasn't really having much of it) the lump feels very soft, almost like there is liquid inside of it, and it doesn't hurt him or bother him at all when we touch it. Don't worry, we will be taking him to the vets I just wanted to know if anybody here knew about it, as I thought it may be a Yorkie thing. Thanks. |
Hopefully it's just a fluid cyst that the Dr can remove while you are there. I would think "fluid" filled is better than "soild"....good luck |
It might be a cyst. It could also be a lipoma - a fatty benign "tumor". These can be removed. My Cricket had one. Please let us know how you make out at the vet. |
Has he had any vaccinations lately?? I know mine got a big fluid filled bump on her back when she was vaccinated, and it went away in about a week. |
One of my Yorkies (Jackie) had one that appeared between the pads in one of her paws. Did not bother her at all. Took her to the vet and they removed it and tested it - benign cyst. Jackie limped while she walked for about a day and then was back to her crazy self. Let us know how it turns out. |
lump on the back My Graysee had a small one on the side of her neck, near her shoulder. I was going to have the vet remove when she went in for her teeth cleaning, but by that time it had gone away on its own! It didn't bother her, and the vet didn't think it was anything more than a benign cyst of some sort. :) |
My guess would be lipoma too. My dachshund had one that got fairly large during her very long life. But the vet said he did not want to take it off unless I just insisted. He said it did no harm and surgery was always a risk. So, we left it there and it was just a part of her. She seemed to like to get it scratched so I always wondered if it itched her. But she did not loose the hair over hers. I guess it was deeper. Glad you are taking her in to the vet to find out for sure. There are more serious possibilities you want to rule out. |
Strange lump That almost looks like what my Rocky has under his chin on his throat. Did you find out what it was> Rocky is 14 1/2. I am taking him to the vet Saturday. It's about the size of the bottom of my pinky finger. He is so old and it doesn't seem to bother him but I'dlike to know what it is. |
I don't know for sure, but it looks to me like a wart. The size is what's confusing, it looks rather large. Please have your vet take a look at it, biopsy it if necessary or have it removed if needed. Let us know, I'm curious and want to know your little one will be all right. |
Strange bump/blister like thing Thanks, he will go Saturday. I am pretty sure it was there when he had his senior checkup about a month ago but I forgot to mention it and the vet did not say anything about it. He is so old now I do not like to have them touch anything unless it is really necessary. |
