shaking head My puppy Chubby is constantly shaking his head, and would sometimes whine upon closer inspection of his ears, the tip of the inside of his left ear is noticeably redder than the other ear. what could possibly be the issue? should i take him to the vet? |
Was there any brown stuff in the ear? If so it could be ear mites. If not it sounds like an ear infection. I would probably go to the vet. |
mites.. oh yeah I agree, mites it could be. Wosie had ear mites when we got her from the breeder, and it took a few weeks and some exciting spashes of ear meds when she would shake when we were trying to dose her, but the buggies were gone eventually! Check with your vet, though! Good luck! |
good, this give me an excuse to leave work early :) |

It could be dirt but if its reoccuring bet its mites. Its nothing to worry about though you can get drops at petco and petsmart or from the vet. It is more common for cats to get this than dogs. I have treated my cat for it before with stuff I bought at petsmart. |
Reyna had ear mites too when I got her from the breeder. Drops and cleanser everyday for a week...and her ears were squeeky clean. It is pretty funny when they shake their head and all the cleanser flies out...not to mention when they start running all over and rubbing their head on the carpet. She looked like a crazy dog! :D |
i took chubby to the vet yesterday, she tod me it was an ear infection. i assume he got the ear infection when my sister bathed him about 2 weeks ago and got water in his ear. the vet gave me some ear drops to put in his ear. |
Good job Excellent that you took your baby to the vet as infections don't clear up by themselves! Nicely done, and hope your little one stops shaking the head real soon! |
