Eye tearing Pita seems to always have a line of wetness from her eye down the sides of her face. I cannot figure out what it could be. I feed her Natural Balance Alpha which is grain free. I use OUT pet odor eliminator in her pen area, which is supposedly safe for pets and children. She seems to tear a lot after her bath but I use puppy shampoo...I am just stumped at this point, so any suggestions would be great. Thx. |
How old is your baby? If she is young and teething, during this time when they are cutting teeth you will notice eyes running more. It could also be seasonal allergies as well. Taycie has issues with this, when the pollen count is high. Sometimes, it is just genetic. I have battled tear stains with Taycie off and on alot.. Right now I am supplementing with Kiefer yogurt because she has been on antibiotics. Yogurt can sometimes help. As far as eyes go.. I think her eyes are clear because of the antibiotics. We will see if the yogurt will continue to help:) I also like good old Sterile Saline Solution. Of all the solutions I have tried, at least for us. I think this works the best. As far as shampoos go, I find I have to stay away from the super strong perfum shampoos.. I think it makes Taycie tear more as well. I have used Espree, Paul Mitchell Pet and Chris Christensen with good results. I also am currently am in the process of transitioning Taycie onto a balanced homeade diet. That is my next step to see if this will help with eyes, along with her severly sensitive stomach. |
Oh... I remembered one more thing.. Bottled Water has helped us. I buy Gerber Baby Water. Its a 1.00 a gallon at Walmart. I really like it. |

I bet its the teeth causing the symptoms! Once Taycie got all her teeth, her eyes stopped watering as much. Yes, allergies are awful this year! |
