sentinel tablet Good evening everyone, My 6 month old yorkie Jack hates taking his sentinel pill. I have tried putting it in his food bowl with his dinner and he will eat everything except his pill. Each month it gets harder (this is his 4mth). So today I smashed the pill and sprinkled it into his water bowl. He drank all the water and took in all of the pieces of the pill. Now he is laying around the house kind of sad/depressed. I'm worried, has this happened to anyone elses yorkie?:( |
Rosie has been on Sentinel a long time. We have never had any problems with it. I give her the tablet in a little bit of can dog food. I have never had any problems with her taking it. Does he act this way after taking it every time? |
It can be put in his throat with a pill gun or your finger. I'd avoid putting it in the water next time because it was probably wet for too long. You could try crushing in in soft food, but just pilling them is sometimes easier. It needs to be given with some food. |
Gizmo is on it also and I just wrap it in American cheese and he just swollows it. Also it says on box to give with food. Baby could be nauseous maybe? |
Jack has never responded that way after taking his sentinal. I was worried about him all night. He wouldn't even sleep in the bed with hubby and I which is a treat for him. When we got ready for bed he went straight into his crate. He is better today. Will definitely talk to the vet next month before he gets his monthly dose. |
All 3 of mine use Sentinel and I have never had a problem. I put in cream cheese and they love it. |
I mixed all Noahs medications in with a spoon of baby food. He liked the beef and chicken. I used the beechnut as the ingredients said beef or chicken and water, nothing else. I got it for .88 at the grocery store I think. (Noah was on 4 antibiotics, a probiotic, anti nausea medication and 2 or 3 others after spending some time in the hospital) |
