Puppy's testes not descending can someone please help me, i bought a male yorkie, he is now 6 mos old and still has NO testies, i was told he could get cancer if they dont come down, the breeder said some times it takes 8 or 9 mos, is this true or did i get ripped off, hes only 3 lbs, thanks |
Its been a while sense I had a male puppy. But my last baby had only one testie drop and I dont remember how old he was. You might give your vet a call. I wish I could be more help. |
Your vet can remove the testes when you schedule the little guy for neutering, usually done between 6 and 7 mos of age. |
If they don't descend by the time neutering rolls along, Vets can go in and remove them. It would be more like a spay type of surgery and cost a little bit more. You can wait until 7 -8 months of age and get the retained baby teeth out at the same time. Cancer can result if retained testicles are never removed as the dog gets older. Removal by a year of age shouldn't be a problem. |
