Food Question Hello Everyone. I have a question about dog food. Duke, my 3 1/2 year old Yorkie has allergies to certain foods. We've been feeding him Nutro Natural Choice dry food for a couple of years now with good results. He gets lots of table scraps too but I'd like to get him a canned or semi-dry food that won't trigger his allergies to give him some variety. I'm sure he would like a break from the dry food. Thanks for the help. Mark |
There are five types of allergies which can affect a dog.The most common symptom of allergy is itching. The dog may also cough, sneeze and wheeze due to a respiratory allergy. If the digestive system is is affected, it will lead to vomiting and diarrhea. When ever you find these symptoms then be aware these are symptoms of this allergy called itching.I recommend you to stop to give raw food and domestic food for a few days.I suggest you few brand foods for few days. Grain Free,Natural Choice,Innove Canned adult food. |
You may want to drift away from giving him table scraps especially if you arn't sure what exactly is triggering his allergies. A popular limited ingredient diet food that I've heard about is Natural Balance. They have quiet a few varieties to choose from. I used one of their formulas about 2 years ago but it just wasn't the food for her. We didn't experience any issues while she was on the food though. Good luck! |
Welcome to YT, Mark! :) I would eliminate table scraps from his diet, especially if you are not sure what he is allergic to. If he does well with Nutro, have you thought about trying their wet forumlas? |
