Solid Gold Wee Bit - All life stages or Adult? Hello everyone, Im in a quest to search for a better food to feed Sparky. Currently he is eating Eukanuba Small breed. So in this search, I have looked at a couple of brand and asked for samples. I e-mailed Solid Gold, and was suggested to feed Just Wee Bit formula All Life Stages. I searched online and saw that the formula is an adult food. Am I missing something. I dont think I want to feed an "all life stages" food. |
All Life Stages food are great, why don't you want to feed one? To be honest, most puppy, senior, breed specific formulas are all a big marketing gimmick. If you compare and contrast ingredients, protein, fat, etc, they're generally all the same. Large/giant breed puppy owners must look out for calcium and phosphorus levels but that's about it. I don't really see a reason to feed a puppy food. I prefer a food that is for all of their life stages. Solid Gold is pretty good ingredient-wise but I know nothing else about it and have no personal experience with it. I have had great luck with Acana and we are just trying Taste of the Wild and I am extremely pleased with it thus far! |
I was misinformed about the all life stages I guess. I was told the same thing about the calcium/phosphorus levels and did not know it only applies to large breeds (which makes more sense now). My first choice was TOTW but was persuaded otherwise. With this new info (for me at least) I think I will be trying TOTW. Do you recommend a specific formula? Preference over the other? Thanks by the way! An I love Jackson's hair cut. |
Ziva liked the Solid Gold, we were having trouble finding a small enough kibble that she liked. But it was easier to put both dogs on the same food so once she got bigger the TOTW pacific stream was the answer for us. My big dog is the best digestive-ly that she has ever been and I have to say that Ziva's coat actually shimmers. |
I put Thor 5 months old and our dashound Streach on solid gold wee bites. They are both doing great on it and like it. Streach has always had skin problems and was always scratching but after 3 weeks on this food we noticed a big improvement after 2 months we were shocked at how shinny and healthy his skin looks. I'm sure the other foods talked about are just as good but I'm having luck with solid gold for now. Nydia -- Thor's mommy:) |
Thanks for the input guys. I still have to finish my Eula UVA and then will be buying TOTW or Solod Gold. How I'd the TOTW kibble size wise? |
Eukanuba* |
TOTW is a good in between size kibble, I think. It's not teeny tiny but it's not really big either. It's smaller than a penny. |
