Doggie ice cream
 
I was wondering if anyone treats their pups to the frozen treats they sell in the freezer section at the grocery store?
Someone said her dog loves them but she has a Lab so I don't know if it would make Abby sick or not. I am sure it is probably not that healthy either.

I've never bought frozen treats, but I do put a little yogurt in a Kong & freeze it as a treat.

Are you talking about Frosty Paws? They're not the greatest ingredients, and they're made by Purina, so I only feed them on special occasions.

But yes I often put plain non fat yogurt in a Kong and freeze it! He loves that.

Thats a great idea I would never have thought to freeze yogurt. But you say only the plain, not any flavored?

Frosty paws have been around for a very long time. I dont know the ingrediants or how good or bad they are for your dogs but I will not feed them to Callie because when I was growing up we had a lab mix with a steel stomach and frosty paws would make her throw up. I bought the freezy pups kit from bloomingtailsdogboutique.com and have been giving those to Callie when its really hot and she loves them so does Sammy my moms yorkie.

Ellie had a Frosty Paw several years ago. Threw up many times. Looking back, I think it was her first bout of pancreatitis. The ingredients are gross. Won't be buying them again.

I stopped buying FrostyPaw also, too many ingredients I can't even pronounce. When you homemake the treats, you know exactly what goes in it & the proper adjustments can be made for your bab(ies) needs. But then again the kitchen is not for everyone :rolleyes:

I buy from Shwans and my 3 dogs love them... Never read the ingredients but none of them have ever gotten sick from them. I only give them on occassion tho. But I probably wont buy any more tho,,, Im starting to make my own food tho cuz they are so picky and its so much better for them. :rolleyes:

Mine wont eat the frosty paws. I freeze yogurt for them and they like that

I gave Pnut the frosty paws a couple times- nothing crazy happend. I haven't gave him that stuff in a long time! Daddy will sometimes give him a little vanilla ice cream when we have it- that is rare...
