anything wrong with my puppy? Dear all, we had just recently brought home a 2 months old Yorkie puppy, so I've joined this forum, hoping to learn all about taking care of this adorable pup. We love him so much already. In my country yorkie is a rare breed, so before I check with the vet here, I want to hear your opinion. He's pretty healthy as far as I can say. He plays around the apartment for 15 min, then sleeps for an hour. Yesterday we took him to my parents-in-law and it was about 45 min car ride. Normally whenever he is in the car, he usually just sleeps, occasionally he would wake up and look around, but mostly just sleep. But yesterday he threw up a bit (just liquid, not food) and also sneezed. My guess is that he sneezed because my husband had air conditioning on and it was a bit cold. He kept having a running nose for a while. He did eat when we gave him his food. Then went on to play a bit, then he eat a lot and threw up. He seems normal, but I am still worried. He's so tiny, I just want to make sure he is okay. He seems active and acts normal. But my husband was like "oh Teddy doesn't seem to play as much?!" and it got me so worried. Is it normal? or I am too worried? |
I don't know about the runing nose, but my yorkie always threw up when I got her. Took almost a month to her to get used to car rides |
2 months is very young to be doing a lot of traveling, imo. Many young dogs will vomit when taking car rides but I would have him checked by a vet asap. Nothing compares to quality vet care. |
At just two months old, he probably won't want to play alot..just for a few minutes, but he'll probably want to sleep alot. |
2 months is too early to be taken away from his mom! Puppies should not be outside or around other dogs until around 16 weeks when all puppy shots are done! Goodluck with your little one:( |
12 weeks is ideal for a new yorkie puppy to go to a new home. I agree that now that you have him, not to take hom all over the place, yet. Wait until all his vaccines are given, then 2 weeks later. This is what is reccomended. If your puppy is vomiting from the car ride, that is common. Car sickness. Your should not be exposed to other dogs right now. It is dangerous, and could make your puppy ill. Things to remember is that such a tiny puppy needs to eat and drink enough to sustain his growing body and blood sugar levels. have Nuti Cal ready to place on his gums to help this puppy from low blood sugar. Do not take too me chances with the puppy, see a vet if he keeps getting sick and not drinking water. These pups can go downhill quickly. |
