is yogurt every morning ok??? Hello, just a quick question, we give our 8 month old yorkie a teaspoon or so of yogurt every morning with some of her food (Acana) Is this ok??? Plain unflavoured natural yogurt. Thank you for your assistance!! |
Mine get a teaspoon every night (I need to mix meds in it for my one dog)- I use greek strained plain- and they LOVE it. It is good for their digestive tract as well. |
 My boys have half a teaspoon twice a day, sometimes a little more. It is a ritual after walks. We use Fage greek plain yogurt. |
This great to know! I always have greek yogurt as it is an addiction of mine! lol |
A little plain yogurt is good for their digestive system. It can help with stomach upset and gas too. |
I am soooooooo happy that Fage yogurt is acceptible. I dearly love it and have occasionally given a tiny amount to Priscilla. Now I can do it guilt free!!!!!! Thanks for asking this great question, I don't know why I didn't! I like to get my portion really cold in the freezer before I eat it (it's very hot in Texas) and Prissy goes nuts for it. She is 5 lbs and I have been giving a whole tablespoon. This only happens about once a month. It's the only "people food" she has had in almost 2 years. This little Biewer LOVES to eat and I always laugh so hard when other YT'ers describe their little piggly wiggly eaters. I heart YT! Learned so much! |
Moshe gets yogurt ever day (as does Belle and Rudy, I have even given it to the cat sometimes). He loves it! In fact I'm eating some right now and he is giving me the most saddest look. I give him like half a teaspoon just a smidge in the a.m and then a bit at night. BTW has anyone tried the Fage honey greek yogurt? It's AMAZING!! I'm addicted. |
Armani has Greek yogurt at least five times a week. |
Izzy LOVES greek yogurt.. We use Chobani.... She ets about 1-2 teaspoons every other day or so.. sometime everyday.. Just depends when hubby or I are eating it ..lol |
I love Fa-yeh lol. I only give Uni the 0% or 2% kind. The 2% kind is always sold out! Quote:

Thank you all very much for your feedback, it's comforting to know that there is a community who not only love their yorkie's but are willing to take the time to share their experience and knowledge..... |

Mine like their Fage 0% mixed with a little organic peanut butter frozen in ice cube tray. It is a treat I don't mind giving them. |
Sugar gets a TBS or so of homemade yogurt every day. Plain. She loves it! |

Seems fine to me! Nilla's breeder told me that until she started eating better (as she's transitioning into a new home) to feed her yogurt or cottage cheese. -shrugs- If all these people are feeding yogurt to their babies, I would say it's all right! |
My pack gets a teaspoon of yogurt 3 times a week, only when a girl is pregnant I stop it, because is too rich on calcium for a prego girl, other than that Plain yogurt is good for their tummy.. I use the plain kind too..:) |
I recently bought Kiefer for Taycie. It has 10 different strains of beneficial bacteria. I personally am not a big fan of the plain/unsweetened but Taycie LOVES it. I actually found it at Whole Foods. |
I got Maci some yogurt tonight... here's the ingredients: Skim Milk, Cream, Milk Protien Concentrate, Active Bac. Cultures. The front says: 3% m.f./m.g. Plain Nature Yogurt. No Gelatin. No Starch. No Sugar. No artificial sweeteners. I had no clue about the percentage, so I just got this one. It was only $3 so if I need to get a different kind, I'll swallow the loss lol I almost got her the Greek kind in plain, but there were so many choices I almost got a headache haha! So is this okay to give maci once a day [tablespoon] |
I mix a container of yogurt with a large jar of baby food applesauce and freeze it in an ice cube tray. Mine love it when that tray comes out they start jumping like crazy. |
shoot my comment was supposed to be a question lol! i made it sound like a statement... is the yogurt i got maci ok? or should i get the greek kind or does it matter? :P |
I give my 12 week puppy his yoghurt (homemade plain) at night or he doesn't eat his breakfast up x |
