Allergy Test Results I just had my girl tested again for allergies due to continued excessive scratching. She was previously tested in Nov '07 and was allergic to 9 inhalants. She has been on allergens since then but the scratching never really went away enough for her to go "naked". She always wears clothes of some sort or she will just scratch till her skin is raw!:( After the latest allergy test, she is allergic to more inhalants, the worse ones being molds of ALL kinds, cotton, most trees and most grasses. That is the short list! I am having a hard time with finding acceptable treats for her due to the new food allergies. Thank goodness she doesn't have to change foods. She is allergic to: beef cow's milk eggs oats potatoes (she really love her dehydrated sweet potatoes!) venison yeast Does anyone have any suggestions for pre-made treats? I am also more than willing to make treats but everything I look at seems to have eggs, oats, or some type of dairy product. :confused: Any help would be sooooo appreciated! :) |
If your dog had allergy tests that were blood tests, you should know that they are not reliable. They told me after $800 in testing that my dog was allergic to almost everything on earth and it was all inaccurate. Chena, WOW, what a miserable experience for your little girl ! I really don't have any specific advice for you, just emphasizing I suppose. I have one who is "itching" some... but the Vet told me it was a reaction to a Flea Bite, and we're changing protection meds and will see what happens. There is no visible mold but because of the age and the little underground room with really no good ventilation, mold is very likely the biggest culprit. I do trust my vet as she has yorkies of her own. She also has a scratchy one. Luckily the allergy testing was reasonable at $200 but I would need to ask about the skin testing, cost and such. We are going to cut the foods from her diet for a couple of months and then go from there. Thanks for the link....I will be checking it out. |
Have you tried Atopica medicine...it's for allergies and it has helped Tessa... |
