Jacks teeth. K9's. Hi Guys, After having a good look at Jacks teeth i've noticed that that there are four teeth top and four bottom teeth ! I'm assuming that there are still some baby teeth in his mouth and was wondering which is his baby teeth ! He has four very pointed teeth and four stumpy/smaller but bigger teeth, do you think the thin pointed teeth are the baby teeth ? Jack is now six month's old and i've heard that most of the time they come out on there own but sometimes need to be pulled. Thanks Margaret & Jack. |
The thinner, pointier ones are his baby teeth. Your right that sometimes they will fall out and sometimes they have to be pulled. Alice's bottom canines fell out before the adult repalcements came in, but she had the side by side thing going on on the top. I just looked in her mouth 2 days ago and vola - the baby ones are gone. She's 7 months old. Was he nuetered yet? If they don't fall out before then, have the vet pull them while he's under anestesia for the nueter. |
No Jack is not nuetered yet and would be a cost saver is both op's are done at the same time. I'll be checking daily on the *pointed teeth* now. Thankyou. |
Lexie is 7 months old and has retained baby canines too, i have my fingers crossed but none of them seem to be budging at all, i've tried wiggling them. She's looks like a little shark lol. The baby ones are super sharp and slightly hook under at the tips, the adult ones are blunt and more solid looking. I'm waiting a bit longer but i have a feeling i'll have to get them pulled when she's spayed |
Talking about teeth, do any of you have your dog's teeth professionally cleaned? I noticed alot of black plaque (especially around the tops) and tried "teeth cleaning snacks" but they don't seem to helping at all. Is it recommended to have their teeth cleaned?? |
I brush Jacks teeth once a week with pet toothpaste and use a finger toothbrush. Jack also chews on natural hide products too and when the hide is all soft and stretchy we have a pulling contest with it and the hide gets into all those hard to reach places and really cleans his teeth up. When we first got Jack his teeth was covered in plaque/crap now they are super white  Those so called ''teeth cleaning snacks'' are a waste of money and just a gimmick  |
