Mia had surgery today Mia went in this morning to have her 2 remaining baby canine teeth pulled, teeth cleaned, and also her 2 back dew claws removed. She's 16 months and the vet and I decided to remove them before they caused problems by getting caught and torn or the claw part growing too fast and penetrating the skin. She is doing well, but groggy and doesn't understand why she has the collar on. For those wondering about costs - I'll put the breakdown. She also had her annual shots and extra bloodwork/ testing done as I'm hoping to breed her. Pre anesthetic injection - $27.81 2 Dewclaw removal - adult $105.00 Home pain relief - $ 26.85 antibiotics $20.88 Surg pack - Sm $36.75 (I assume this is oxygen mask, etc) Sutures $14.88 Bandages |
I'm happy that Mia is home and feeling better. |
The rest of my original post....i hit the button! Bandages $39.76 Dental pulling/cleaning $75.00 Da2pp annual vacc $19.50 Rabies annual $10.00 Bloodwork $42.72 Post op pain $26.25 E collar $6.02 for a total of $451.42 + $30.19 tax there was a discount on the teeth of $85.50 as she was already under from the dewclaw removal, or 2 teeth removal/cleaning would have been $160.50 Today at the vet she was 6.5 lbs. For those interested she was 2.5 @ 12 weeks and is not overweight for her body according to the vet. I'll post some pics later. Poor baby! |
