Chew stick Looking for something for my 7 month to chew on to keep her busy while she is in her pen and give me some time to get dressed. She does not like bully sticks nor does she like the pig snout. Can anyone recommend something safe, nutritious, and time consuming! |
what about deer antler or himalyan chews? Rocco prefers the bully stick but he does give these other two a tumble once in a while. |

Mine like the flexible nylabones. I think they are safer than most chews. They like these -- Nylabone 002695 Bar-B-Chew Rib Rack Dog treat, Small Barbecue |

Sasha really likes the himalayan chew. I used to give her bully sticks, but she would become aggressive when I'd try to take it away from her. The himalayan chews also last a long time and don't become "softer" until after they've been chewed on for long periods. I usually let her chew on it for an hour or so before taking it away. I haven't really noticed it begin to break down yet which is nice. |
Toby did not like the deer antler but he absolutely loves bully sticks and Himalayan chews. I prefer giving him the Himalayan chew as it lasts for days but he can take 1/2 a bully stick and have it gone in about 45 minutes. The bully sticks are highly digestible and have a lot of protein but since I have to watch Toby's weight he doesn't get them very often. |
Himalayan chew. Kinda pricey, but they last a long time. I get the medium size for ZoE. I don't like the small, because she doesn't get to chew it for long before I have to throw it away cos I'm worried about it being a choking hazard when it gets too small. |

I did the same thing. The first one I bought for Sasha was the medium sized one only because she is a pretty hard chewer and with the small sized one, it looked like she would've had that taken care of in about an hour. I've had the medium one for a few weeks now which is awesome. I usually only let her chew on it once a week for about an hour. If I let her, I'm sure she'd continue to chew on it until it was gone. |
